RockClimb and jinkles
In the late summer of 1995, David
Anderson (a good friend) talked me into getting an internet account.
After a lot of web surfing, he got me started on IRC, and it was there
that I, aka RockClimb, first met jinkles, aka Janis. We talked for many weeks
before we decided to meet. Janis was living in Atlanta, Georgia at the
time, so we met half way. After a few more visits and several more weeks
together on IRC, I asked Janis to marry me in the early hours of the morning
on our channel and she said yes! Janis has since moved to North Wilkesboro,
and we were married on April 19th, 1996.
I can not thank Mr. Anderson enough for talking me into getting on
the internet, without him, I would never have met the woman I am in love
with and am married to.
Now that David has thanked the person responsible for
getting him started on IRC, I (jinkles, aka Janis) want to give equal time to the man
who finally talked me into checking out the Internet. After months and
months of showing me his web surfing efforts, and talking all about how
he and his fiancee met via IRC, I finally decided to give it a try. What
a wonderful decision that was - thanks go to Scott Schneider for his persistence
and patience! The happiest day of my life was the day that David asked
me, in our private IRC channel, to marry him at 1:09 AM on November 17, 1995!!!!!!!!!!!!!
